Moschino 1996

The three loves of my life all rolled in one: ice cream, chocolate and handbags! This Moschino handbag circa 1996 looks good enough to eat. It is designed to look like a scoop of ice cream topped with chocolate, and all I can say is YUM! It is a witty take on fashions obsession with thinness and the idea that both fashion and chocolate are often guilty pleasures. 

The Play House at The Victoria and Albert Museum

This has been one of the most entertaining and inspiring nights I have been to in a little while. It was a filled with plays, theatre and live performances that highlighted aspects of the London theatre scene. It was definitely a magical night!

 Seeing this made my heart skip a beat! The night could not have begun in a more brilliant way and to add to all of this beauty, it was warm.

Philip Levines impressed by passers with his signature design 'Crystalized'. He uses his baldness as a canvas for creativity and for this piece he used over 1,000 diamante gems, each glued on individually. Bald, just got very very sexy!

This was my favourite part of the whole night - Red Carpet Walk, an impressive installation by HalfCut.

Neo Ferns hits the stage!

James Andrews the founder and solo member of Neo Ferns began experimenting and making music from a very early age.  When he was asked if he remembered the first song he wrote, he said 'My first song was called Coffee, and I won't forget it for 2 reasons. The first, it was fucking awful and the second because it was my first self written song' 

In an intimate venue, people gathered around to listen to the ethereal sounds of Neo Ferns. A somewhat shy and reserved James  stands on stage and with his soft vocals, and guitar sounds, teamed up with thoughtful lyrics, he sets the standards quite high in music experimentation. When you listen to his music a huge state of emotion rush through your body, there is a feeling of - floating, falling and standing still. 

His love of collaboration has seen him work with quite a number of musicians on various projects. For this gig, he collaborated with Second City Empire to create unforgettable sounds using electric guitar FX and some 'radiohead-esque' beats thrown in. It seemed only fit to ask James Andrews on his inspirations for his new E.P Five Weeks, he explained 'I like to look at the bigger things, stuff that's bigger than the individual and even our mankind. I think we spend so much time worrying about the subjective stuff that we forget that there's a bigger picture to embrace and just be kind of lucky that we're where we are.' Straight to the point, this is the best way to describe Neo ferns's. He is definitely one of my favourite artists to brace the UK music scene, not only for his fresh and exciting ideas about music but also for his openness to collaborate with a whole bunch of artists in the name of art and the bigger picture.
